The Dog Life Of one

The Changing Face Of Santa Claus

The Changing Face Of Santa Claus! Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, Santy, or simply Santa is a figure with historical origins who, in many Western cultures, brings gifts to the homes of good children on 24 December, the night before Christmas Day. The modern Santa Claus is derived from the British figure of Father Christmas, the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, and Saint Nicholas, the historical Greek bishop and gift-giver of Myra. During the Christianization of Germanic Europe, this figure may also have absorbed elements of the god Odin, who was associated with the Germanic pagan midwinter event of Yule and led the Wild Hunt, a ghostly procession through the sky.

Santa Claus is generally depicted as a portly, joyous, white-bearded man—sometimes with spectacles—wearing a red coat with white collar and cuffs, white-cuffed red trousers, and black leather belt and boots and who carries a bag full of gifts for children. Images of him rarely have a beard with no moustache. This image became popular in the United States and Canada in the 19th century due to the significant influence of the 1823 poem "A Visit From St. Nicholas" and of caricaturist and political cartoonist Thomas Nast.[1][2][3] This image has been maintained and reinforced through song, radio, television, children's books and films.

Santa Claus has been believed to make a list of children throughout the world, categorizing them according to their behavior ("naughty" or "nice") and to deliver presents, including toys, and candy to all of the well-behaved children in the world, and sometimes coal to the naughty children, on the single night of Christmas Eve. He accomplishes this feat with the aid of the elves who make the toys in the workshop and the flying reindeer who pull his sleigh.[4][5] He is commonly portrayed as living at the North Pole and saying "ho ho ho" often
Father Christmas dates back as far as 16th century in England during the reign of Henry VIII, when he was pictured as a large man in green or scarlet robes lined with fur.[6] He typified the spirit of good cheer at Christmas, bringing peace, joy, good food and wine and revelry.[6] As England no longer kept the feast day of Saint Nicholas on 6 December, the Father Christmas celebration was moved to 25 December to coincide with Christmas Day.[6] The Victorian revival of Christmas included Father Christmas as the emblem of 'good cheer'.[7] His physical appearance was variable,[8] with one famous image being John Leech's illustration of the "Ghost of Christmas Present" in Charles Dickens's festive classic A Christmas Carol (1843), as a great genial man in a green coat lined with fur who takes Scrooge through the bustling streets of London on the current Christmas morning, sprinkling the essence of Christmas onto the happy populace.[6][7]

Father Christmas is now widely seen as synonymous with the Santa Claus figure.
Pre-modern representations of the gift-giver from Church history and folklore, notably St Nicholas (known in Dutch as Sinterklaas), merged with the English character Father Christmas to create the character known to Americans and the rest of the English-speaking world as "Santa Claus" (a phonetic derivation of "Sinterklaas").

In the English and later British colonies of North America, and later in the United States, British and Dutch versions of the gift-giver merged further. For example, in Washington Irving's History of New York (1809), Sinterklaas was Americanized into "Santa Claus" (a name first used in the American press in 1773)[24] but lost his bishop's apparel, and was at first pictured as a thick-bellied Dutch sailor with a pipe in a green winter coat. Irving's book was a lampoon of the Dutch culture of New York, and much of this portrait is his joking invention.

A fear of sharks is known
She Was Giving An Interview...When A  Attacks Someone On The Beach...Unbelievable!

A fear of sharks is known as galeophobia, a condition that might be growing more widespread as media stories about shark attacks seem to be getting more frequent.
In reality, sharks have little interest in feasting on humans. Beyond population numbers, increases in attacks have come as a result of more people finding their way onto beaches and into oceans. For those who find themselves swimming far off the coast and in deep, shark-infested waters, you are occupying territory that belongs to them. If they decide to approach, it’s borne more out of a curiosity over a foreign presence than any vicious intent. Even when it comes to shark encounters, exploratory bites are far more common than attempts by sharks to devour human prey.

Life How Social Media Will Change the World

Life How Social Media Will Change the World

How Social Media Has Changed Us: The Good and The Bad
It’s hard to believe that, only a decade ago, social media was little more than a budding trend. Sure, there were websites such as Friendster and MySpace that had a decent level of adoption, but the population as a whole had not come around to it yet.

Back in 2005, Facebook was still in it’s early stages of its spread across the world. Heck, I was signed up for it back then, but didn’t really see the point until a few years later. Twitter appeared around that time, but a lot of us saw it as a pointless lifecasting toy. LinkedIn was essentially a digital resume and, for some of us, a pseudo-Rolodex. And Google+ didn’t even come on the scene until 2011, followed later by Pinterest and other platforms.

Fast forward to 2014, and social media has become not only a key part of the modern lifestyle, but a useful marketing channel for businesses of all sizes. Yesterday, a friend commented (on Facebook of course) that her elementary age kids were stunned to know that phones were only used for conversations a few years ago. They were dumbfounded to hear that we didn’t even carry phones with us 15-20 years ago.

This tells me that everything has officially and permanently changed. There is a generation of kids coming up (mine included) who can’t even conceive of a world without smart phones and social networking. It has officially embedded itself in our culture.

As someone who spends nearly every waking hour connected in some way, including both personal and business, this really hits home for me. Let’s look at ways that social media improves our life experience, and also a few ways that it uncovers a few of the more unsightly parts of humanity. Surely you’ll agree on at least some if not all of them.

Social Media: The Good

Before I cover the “Bad,” let’s start by appreciating the things social media has done to add to our lives. Here are some of the better things I’ve observed.

Immediate Access to Information

Given all the consolidation of media companies in the United States, it is pretty easy to question whether the news we get from the major media is the full story or not. After all, it’s not a rare occasion to hear more about the latest Kardashian scandal or celebrity death than a political uprising in Turkey or elsewhere in the world.

One of the things that attracted me personally to Twitter was the immediate access to other sources of information. Back when the government raided Osama Bin Laden’s fortress in Pakistan, there was a nearby citizen live tweeting his observations of the whole situation through the night. I was out at an event that evening, and learned of it pretty soon after news broke domestically, directly from my contacts on Twitter.

Social media is also very helpful for expanding our sources of content as a whole. With so much being blogged and written, then curated and shared proactively, the volume of content has grown exponentially. Now, there is no shortage of viewpoints and sources from which we can draw our own conclusions about what is really happening in the world. It’s less important to have a news team interpret it on our behalf.

Pervasive Connectivity To Others

I remember the days of phones with old style dials. We didn’t even have answering machines back then. If you called someone and they didn’t answer the phone, you had to call back and try to catch them in real time.

When a call came in, there was no caller ID. You just picked it up and said, “Hello.” It was sometimes hard to catch up to people, so you had to hand write and send a letter to communicate when you were both leading busy lives.

Today, if you can’t catch someone on the phone, you can leave a voice mail or send a text. Or even better, tweet, Facebook message, or touch base in some other means. You can see what others are doing within seconds of them doing it, assuming they share it on a social network of some sort. It’s not hard to catch up with someone if they want you to find them. Kids have no idea how convenient this is in our daily lives (privacy concerns aside).

Globalized Voices

Similar to the phone situation I just spelled out, it was extremely difficult to access a globally reaching platform where one could share their opinions or findings back a mere 25 years ago. I recall in the early 1990s where it was a huge deal to send in a letter to the editor to a local newspaper, and have them actually decide to include the letter in the paper.

In the old days, mass media ruled. A company had to pony up thousands or even millions of dollars to be heard in most cases. Very large companies with deep pockets ruled the roost. Only

The Changing Face Of Sylvester Stallone It's so trippy to see him in the first Rocky Full Movie
Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone (/stəˈln/Italian pronunciation: [(ɡarˈdɛntsjo) stalˈloːne]; born July 6, 1946), nicknamed Sly Stallone,[4] is an American actor, screenwriter and film director.[5] Stallone is well known for his Hollywood action roles, particularly boxer Rocky Balboa, the title character of the Rocky series'seven films from 1976 to 2015, soldier John Rambo from the four Rambofilms, which ran from 1982 to 2008, and Barney Ross in the three The Expendables films from 2010 to 2014. Chennai, drops relief materials for stranded locals ‪#‎ChennaiFloods‬.
WHY CHENNAI IS SEEING ITS WORST FLOODS Why Is Chennai Under Water While officials at the India Meteorological Department have said the exceptionally strong El Niño, along with a rare “coincidence of various factors”, has resulted in the heavy rain, there’s no denying that Chennai has failed in maintaining an effective storm water drainage system.

In times when the city, and its suburbs, is being pounded with rainfall exceeding normal limits by over three times, a drainage system that isn’t functional, creeks and culverts that are blocked due to excessive dumping of garbage as well as the administration’s failure to ensure timely desilting. Cooum River, Adyar River and Buckingham Canal, which serve as the main rain water drain for the city, have all seen encroachments. In fact, only in September this year, the Madras High Court threatened to summon state’s chief secretary over differences in opinion between the government’s own departments Chennai floods: Decoding the city's worst rains in 100 years

'Supergirl,' 'The Flash' EP Shoots Down Crossover Rumors

'Supergirl,' 'The Flash' EP Shoots Down Crossover Rumors
"We don’t even know if we could, legally," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells THR.
Any rumors of a potential crossover between Supergirl andThe Flash have been greatly exaggerated.
Despite the recent success of the second annual The Flash/Arrow crossover event on The CW, there are no plans for CBS' freshman DC Comics swing Supergirl to share any characters or storylines with any of The CW's shows. WhenThe Hollywood Reporter asked The Flash and Supergirlshowrunner Andrew Kreisberg about recent reports claiming otherwise, he immediately shot them down.
"There's always those late nights, delirious, semi-high on pizza where you're like, 'You know what would be really cool? If …,' " Kreisberg said. "But right now there is no legitimate actual plan to bring [The Flash's] Cisco [Carlos Valdes] onto Supergirl or to bring [Supergirl's] Winn [Jeremy Jordan] onto Legends [of Tomorrow]. First of all, we don’t even know if we could, legally. And quite frankly, just making the Arrow-verse which is what we call Legends, Flash and Arrow work and then making Supergirl work, it's enough of a challenge without having to add a fourth player."
While all The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl showrunners have provided similar answers to this question before, it's interesting to note that Kreisberg notes they haven't even started to explore the possibility of whether they can make a crossover work between two networks.
Outgoing CBS chief Nina Tassler previously noted that while there are no plans for a crossover betweenSupergirl and sibling network The CW's Flash or Arrow, there are promotional multi-network crossovers in the works for all the DC Comics shows.

A Hero Unmasked in New 'Batman v Superman' Teaser Trailer Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an upcoming American superhero film featuring the DC Comics characters Batman and Superman, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is intended to be the follow-up to 2013's Man of Steel and the second installment in the DC Extended Universe. The film is directed by Zack Snyder, with a screenplay written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer. The film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, and Gal Gadot. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be the first live-action film to feature both Batman and Superman, as well as the first theatrical film to feature live-action portrayals of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Cyborg.

The film was announced at 2013 San Diego Comic-Con International, after the release of Man of Steel. Snyder and Goyer were both brought back in June 2013. DayMan V NightMan- Dawn of Batman is not real. His entire reality is "What if". If someone draws batman getting ass pumped by Joker that is as legitimate of a reality to me as the Batman comic series. Marvel and D.C. are dinosaurs who only maintain existence, by targetting a youth group which will never stop perpetuating, if they are all raised on Marvel and D.C. "If only I had super powers", is why people cling to these childrens stories. And it is the exact angle these companies continue to use because you only WISH you could be, what obviously no one can. Sure it's possible to be Batman. but for how long? Not nearly as long as the series portrays. Batman would not get the chances in real life that he does in comics. He gets knocked out and kidnapped, and villains choose not kill him becaue they want to use him in their plan somehow? He's fucking Batman. If you don't kill him your fucked. The only story which did the bad guys justice in either of these universes was old man logan. I suggest you read it, then drop both these shit companies altogether and look for stories that have a beginning, middle and end.

"Batmans the ultimate most powerful, oh man he can't even die". He is the protagonist in a never ending series. Big fucking deal. Anyone can write a God like character that's half Bruce Lee half Mcyver. Oh he's rich? If only there was a challenge. At least if he was poor he would really have to improvise.
if batman was poor
if batman killed the joker
if batman were a patient in arkham asylum dreaming everything
if batman killed his own parents
if batman were caught
if batman got handed over to law enforcement
if batman got killed by superman
if batman had no prep-time

International Airport is a situated in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India

Amazing ഇതുപോലെ ഒരു എയര്‍പോര്‍ട്ട്‌ നിങ്ങള്‍ ആദ്യമായിട്ടാകും കാണുന്നത് Cochin International Airport (IATA: COK, ICAO: VOCI) is an international airport situated in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. Located at Nedumbassery, about 30 km (19 mi) northeast of Kochi. Surprisingly 90% of the travellers come from south of the airport. It is the busiest and largest airport in the state of Kerala. For the financial year 2014-15, Cochin airport is the fourth busiest airport in India in terms of international passenger traffic after Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai ferrying over 3,751,225 passengers and seventh busiest airport in India carrying 6,814,867 passengers.[3] The airport is a primary base for Air India Express operations and is a focus city for Air Asia India, Air India, Indigo, Jet Airways and SpiceJet.

Cochin International Airport is the first in India developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model and was funded by nearly 10,000 non-resident Indians from 30 countries.[4]

On August 18, 2015 it became the world's first fully solar energy powered airport with the inauguration of the dedicated solar plant.[5] [6]
