'Supergirl,' 'The Flash' EP Shoots Down Crossover Rumors

'Supergirl,' 'The Flash' EP Shoots Down Crossover Rumors
"We don’t even know if we could, legally," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells THR.
Any rumors of a potential crossover between Supergirl andThe Flash have been greatly exaggerated.
Despite the recent success of the second annual The Flash/Arrow crossover event on The CW, there are no plans for CBS' freshman DC Comics swing Supergirl to share any characters or storylines with any of The CW's shows. WhenThe Hollywood Reporter asked The Flash and Supergirlshowrunner Andrew Kreisberg about recent reports claiming otherwise, he immediately shot them down.
"There's always those late nights, delirious, semi-high on pizza where you're like, 'You know what would be really cool? If …,' " Kreisberg said. "But right now there is no legitimate actual plan to bring [The Flash's] Cisco [Carlos Valdes] onto Supergirl or to bring [Supergirl's] Winn [Jeremy Jordan] onto Legends [of Tomorrow]. First of all, we don’t even know if we could, legally. And quite frankly, just making the Arrow-verse which is what we call Legends, Flash and Arrow work and then making Supergirl work, it's enough of a challenge without having to add a fourth player."
While all The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl showrunners have provided similar answers to this question before, it's interesting to note that Kreisberg notes they haven't even started to explore the possibility of whether they can make a crossover work between two networks.
Outgoing CBS chief Nina Tassler previously noted that while there are no plans for a crossover betweenSupergirl and sibling network The CW's Flash or Arrow, there are promotional multi-network crossovers in the works for all the DC Comics shows.
